Purpose and steps

Factorial Calculator validates integer from 0 to 1,000 before applying the displayed equation. Only integer factorials from 0 to 1,000 are supported.

  1. Compute the exact factorial of a non-negative whole number using arbitrary-size integer arithmetic rather than letting large results overflow to Infinity.
  2. Enter Integer from 0 to 1,000 in the stated format. Baseline values are for reproduction.
  3. Check the output unit and convention: Read exact factorial with its stated unit and convention. The default example and the independent worked scenario use different inputs, so compare the assumptions before comparing the numbers.
  4. Change one input and compare the result. Only integer factorials from 0 to 1,000 are supported. This tool does not implement the gamma function or factorials of fractions.

Input reference and units

These values reproduce the model’s demonstration. Replace them with your own records or measurements; they are not recommended targets.

On a small screen, swipe the table horizontally to see all columns.

How this calculator produces its result

Factorial Calculator: n! = 1 × 2 × … × n; 0! = 1. Input definitions: value = Integer from 0 to 1,000. Use the selected convention throughout the calculation.

Factorial Calculator: calculation relationships

Compute the exact factorial of a non-negative whole number using arbitrary-size integer arithmetic rather than letting large results overflow to Infinity. Only integer factorials from 0 to 1,000 are supported. This tool does not implement the gamma function or factorials of fractions.

Factorial counts the orderings of distinct objects. Five objects have 5 choices for the first position, then 4, 3, 2 and 1, giving 5!=120. The recurrence n!=n×(n−1)! and the empty arrangement explain 0!=1. Exact integer arithmetic preserves every digit; this tool does not extend factorial to fractional arguments through the gamma function.

n! = 1 × 2 × … × n; 0! = 1
  • value: Integer from 0 to 1,000. Enter integer from 0 to 1,000 without adding a unit suffix. Scope: Only integer factorials from 0 to 1,000 are supported.
  • Result units: stated beside each output
  • Calculation relationship: n! = 1 × 2 × … × n; 0! = 1
  • Supported domain: see the limits below

Worked example

Factorial Calculator baseline input: Integer from 0 to 1,000: 10. Output: Exact factorial = 3628800. Substitute these values into the displayed equation to reproduce the result.

Reproduce the default scenario

This reproduces the default inputs in the reference table above; it is not an additional independent example. Displayed rounding may differ from intermediate precision.

Reading results without overstating them

  • Read exact factorial with its stated unit and convention. The default example and the independent worked scenario use different inputs, so compare the assumptions before comparing the numbers.
  • Change one input at a time and use the equation to explain the result; do not mix unit, grade-scale, time-zone or rounding conventions across comparisons.

Assumptions and exclusions

  • Only integer factorials from 0 to 1,000 are supported.
  • This tool does not implement the gamma function or factorials of fractions.
