What is the formula for the Age Calculator?
Age Calculator: age = year difference − indicator(birthday not yet reached). Input definitions: birth = Birth date; at = Reference date. Use the selected convention throughout the calculation.
Compare a birth date with a chosen reference date using completed calendar years or days to the next birthday. February 29 anniversaries use March 1 in a non-leap year.
Check the stated input format, calculation convention and limits before using the result.

Understand the calculation
Completed age subtracts one from the year difference when the birthday has not yet occurred. A February 29, 2000 birth is age 24 on February 28, 2025 and age 25 on March 1 under this tool’s convention. Elapsed days and completed years answer different questions. Legal age rules and historical calendar reforms may use other conventions.
age = year difference − indicator(birthday not yet reached)
